What are Footnotes<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

A note<\/strong> is a string of text placed at the bottom of a page<\/a> in a book or document or at the end of a chapter, volume, or the whole text. The note can provide an author’s comments on the main text or citations<\/a> of reference work in support of the text. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Footnotes are notes placed at the bottom of a page. They cite references or comment on a designated part of the text above it. For example, say you want to add an interesting comment to a sentence you have written, but the comment is not directly related to the argument of your paragraph. In this case, you could add the symbol for a footnote.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Define Footnotes<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

At the first step, you have to define the Footnotes in the article with the [[reference number=\"\"]]<\/code> shortcode. Enter the number of the Footnote in the number<\/strong> attribute value. Every Footnote numbers should be unique as like ID. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Creating Footnote with Docy<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

You can easily create multi-column Footnotes with Docy. The below steps explains how to create the Footnotes<\/strong> section for your website articles.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  1. Go to the Page Edit <\/li>
  2. Mark the Footnote<\/strong> switcher to Yes<\/strong> from Options :: Doc > Page Settings > Footnote<\/em><\/strong> to enable the Footnotes features for that page.<\/li><\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    1. Then the Footnote Options will appear in the Options :: Doc<\/strong> meta box. From there, you can add the Footnote resources of that doc page.
      Title:<\/strong> Enter the title of the Footnote
      Reference Number:<\/strong> Enter there the Reference Number of the Footnote that was mentioned in the documentation article with the [[reference number=\"\"]]<\/code> shortcode.
      Reference:<\/strong> Write there the referring source with links. <\/li><\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
